Just a short stroll from Walsingham Farms Shop you’ll find our stylish restaurant, serving delicious farmhouse fare freshly cooked from local produce. As at the Farms Shop, we showcase the array of excellent food and drink produced on our doorstep in Norfolk. MENU
Our menu changes fortnightly adapting to what’s in season. There’s always a freshly made vegetarian dish, plus daily changing vegetables and plenty on the specials board such as mussels or crab from the coast when they’re in season. All our drinks are locally sourced, including pressed apple juices, locally made cider and locally brewed beer, plus wine chosen by Satchells of Burnham Market. Order classic cod and chips, or a prime steak of Walsingham beef, hung to perfection and grilled to your liking. All meat is from the Farms Shop, and all the pies, pâtés and puddings are made on the premises or in the Farms Shop kitchen. Treat yourself to one of our indulgent puddings, perhaps a Bakewell tart or nostalgic ice-cream sundae.
FAMILIES AND PARTIES
Children and family groups are most welcome. And the Riddle is a great place for a party – we can seat up to 40 people inside, with seating for up to 40 outside. We would be delighted to arrange a special menu, just call to discuss your requirements.
WHY THE NORFOLK RIDDLE?
You’ll notice some giant sieves hanging up in the restaurant. These are riddles, agricultural implements for the gruelling task of sorting and grading potatoes. We aim to ‘sort’ locally grown potatoes, an East Anglian staple crop, into tasty mash, crunchy chips and more. Your suggestions for potato dishes are most welcome!
THE FISH & CHIP SHOP
A traditional fish and chip takeaway where we turn Norfolk potatoes into the finest chips, and fry fish from sustainable sources. You’ll find all your classic favourites, but because we use the best beef dripping for our frying, and make all our pies, pasties and sausages in the Farms Shop, you’ll find everything tastes fresh and delicious.
